Alisa grew up Russian and English bilingual in State College, Pennsylvania and soon realized that two languages and alphabets weren't nearly enough. Once fluent in Spanish, she went on a high school exchange to Argentina, where she fell in love with the Patagonian landscape, weekend asados, futbol, and lunfardo. Throughout college, Alisa continued her formal study of languages and culture. She has lived in Spain and traveled widely in South America and delights in finding regional variations for the same word. Alisa moved to New York City in 2012 and has continued teaching and tutoring students in languages ever since.
